Meet your Greens Introduction

The MEET YOUR GREENS! blog by Kara Stonehouse and David Evans will be bursting onto the scene on February 14th, hosted by the Living Lightly Project.

We invite you to join us, in digital form, on an adventure to meet people around the world who are living it up, lightly. So, while you are scarfing down a sandwich at your desk, let us whisk you away from the ringing phones and demanding workload. Let us give you a glimpse of the world as it could be in the sustainable society of the future. Let us introduce you to the people who are saying “No thanks” to energy intensive, isolated lifestyles and “Yes please!” to living in harmony with nature and each other. And all before your Timmy’s coffee gets cold.

We will visit six Ecovillages the world over, from Scotland to Australia, learning from how the villagers live, and bringing their methods, ideas and philosophies home with us to Canada. Our dream is to grow our own Ecovillage near Ottawa, and for it to show Canadians that it is both possible and enjoyable to live in line with your values.

We can’t wait to get started sharing with you and receiving your comments on the blog site! So check in on us every couple of weeks, starting Feb 14th to MEET YOUR GREENS!

Yours lovingly,
Dave and Kara

Some eco-villages you might want to check out:
    Carp Ridge Eco-Wellness Centre – http://www.ecowellness.com/
Whole Village Sustainable Farm Community Caledon, ON http://www.wholevillage.org (ask for Shane Snell, who gave an excellent presentation on a trip he took around the US, visiting several dozen of eco-villages, at the Peak Oil and Sustainable Communities conference in MI last October).
    Good Luck,
