The Otesha Project

The Otesha Project is a youth-run charitable organization that mobilizes young Canadians to create local and global change through their daily consumer choices. In the past six years, Otesha has trained over 350 youth to deliver an entertaining and hope-filled message to 80,000 people in communities across Canada.

Otesha means “reason to dream” in Swahili.

They use theatre, inspirational stories and multimedia to engage audiences, draw attention to how our own daily consumer choices are already changing the world, and inspire action that will have a positive impact on people and the planet.

Visit Otesha’s website at www.otesha.ca to find out how you can get involved with their High School program, Cycling & Performing tours and volunteering right here in Ottawa!

I have had the honor of hosting Otesha Tours on a number of occasions… they rock! Walking their talk, they attend to each detail of their individual and collective ecological and social footprints on their tours. These youth deserve all the support that they can get.
